Read all ingredient food and drink labels. Learn to understand labels, they are there for a reason. The labels may be long and full of other foods, preservatives, chemicals, dyes, substitute artificial sweetener’s that is not real food.
Even though this Candy says Sugar free, it is not Sugar Free (full of substitute sugars) As you can see it DOES cause the Glucose to raise shy high. I will admit I lost control and ate 4 pieces because I am addicted to sweets, I did not want to stop. Like the old Lay’s Potato commercials said; “Bet you can’t eat just one”
Food labels are an important source of information about calories and the nutritional value of the foods we eat, a crucial tool in building a heart-healthy way of eating.
The Nutrition facts information is always in the same orderly fashion. It helps us understand how much of certain nutrients that we may need to limit, as in Sodium.
What do those scientific words mean? Some ingredients go by names other than what we expect. With a little research we will know what we are eating or drinking.
The ingredient and nutrition facts on food and drink labels are not easily understood. Always be aware of fillers. What are the “other ingredients?” This is true of Food, Drinks, Vitamins, Herbs, Supplements.
